Airway Abnormality Discovered in Autism

چکیده
MIAMI BEACH – Less turned out to be better in a large clinical trial comparing radiation doses in patients treated with radiation and chemotherapy for stage III non–small cell lung cancer, investigators reported at the annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology. The median overall survival rate at 1 year was 81% for patients treated with standarddose (60 Gy) radiation, compared with 70.4% for those who received the high dose (74 Gy), according to preliminary findings from the radiationdose arm of the ongoing phase III Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) 0617 trial. The respective median survival rates were 21.7 months and 20.7 months (P = .02). A planned interim analysis from the trial showed that the radiation comparison had crossed the prespecified boundary for futility, and the high-dose arm was stopped in June 2011, Dr. Jeffrey Bradley X-Ray Screening Doesn’t Prevent Lung Ca Deaths

Aims: Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder. Deficit in sensory functions is one of the characteristics of people with autism, and usually these people show abnormality in processing and correct interpretation of auditory information. Also people with Autism show problems in communicating with others. This review article deals with the accurate understanding of Auditory processing skills...
متن کاملنورون های آینه ای و نقش آن درتقلید و نظریه ی ذهن در کودکان طیف اتیسم
Recent studies have reported the discovery of a group of neurons in the motor cortex of the brain's gray. These neurons are called mirror neurons. Rizzolatti and colleagues in 1990s discovered the first mirror neuron system in monkeys in the University of Parma. Mirror neurons in brain are responsible for understanding the actions and intentions of others. The mirror neuron system has an import...
متن کاملMultiplex targeted sequencing identifies recurrently mutated genes in autism spectrum disorders.
Exome sequencing studies of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) have identified many de novo mutations but few recurrently disrupted genes. We therefore developed a modified molecular inversion probe method enabling ultra-low-cost candidate gene resequencing in very large cohorts. To demonstrate the power of this approach, we captured and sequenced 44 candidate genes in 2446 ASD probands. We disco...
متن کاملChromosomal Microarray Testing in 42 Korean Patients with Unexplained Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Multiple Congenital Anomalies
Chromosomal microarray (CMA) is a high-resolution, high-throughput method of identifying submicroscopic genomic copy number variations (CNVs). CMA has been established as the first-line diagnostic test for individuals with developmental delay (DD), intellectual disability (ID), autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), and multiple congenital anomalies (MCAs). CMA analysis was performed in 42 Korean pa...
متن کاملOlfactory bulb dysgenesis, mirror neuron system dysfunction, and autonomic dysregulation as the neural basis for autism.
Autism is a disorder characterized by social withdrawal, impoverished language and empathy, and a profound inability to adopt another's viewpoint - a failure to construct a "theory of mind" for interpreting another person's thoughts and intentions. We previously showed that these symptoms might be explained, in part, by a paucity of mirror neurons. Prompted by an MRI report of an individual wit...
